چکیده
The paper presents a new method that enables us to construct direct routines to estimate spectral moments of any orders. Accuracy analysis confirms high efficiency of the estimates. The feasibility of the method is tested for signal fading data acquired during observations of ionosphere multipath propagation.

Nonparametric estimation of mean Doppler and spectral width
This paper proposes a new nonparametric method for estimation of spectral moments of a zero-mean Gaussian process immersed in additive white Gaussian noise. Although the technique is valid for any order moment, particular attention is given to the mean Doppler (first moment) and to the spectral width (square root of the centered second-spectral moment). By assuming that the power spectral densi...
متن کاملAn iterative quadratic method for high resolution delay estimation with known waveform
The iterative delay estimation method is based on its analogy with parameter estimation of sinusoids in correlated noise. It assumes a-priori knowledge of echo waveform, their number, and the structure of the covariance matrix of noise. The advantages of this method are improved resolution as compared to the conventional matched filter approach and convergence, in a few iterations, to maximum l...
متن کاملForeword to the Special Issue on Spectral Unmixing of Remotely Sensed Data
MORE than two decades after the first efforts toward the application of spectral mixture analysis techniques to remotely sensed data [1], [2], effective spectral unmixing still remains an elusive exploitation goal. Regardless of the available spatial resolution, the spectral signals collected in natural environments are invariably a mixture of the signatures of the various materials found withi...
متن کاملRobust parameter estimation for mixture model
In pattern recognition, when the ratio of the number of training samples to the dimensionality is small, parameter estimates become highly variable, causing the deterioration of classification performance. This problem has become more prevalent in remote sensing with the emergence of a new generation of sensors with as many as several hundred spectral bands. While the new sensor technology prov...
